Teacher: John Dykes
After 7 years practicing kendo Sensei John took up Ki Aikido in 1986. His teachers have included: Sensei Paul McKechan, Sensei Mervyn Williams, Sensei Ken Williams, Yoshigasaki Sensei, and Sensei Phil Burgess. For the last 25 years or so Sensei John has also made a deeper individual study of the path of Ki, going beyond form, technique and syllabus. Since Covid he has also hosted a weekly online meeting and support group to practice Ki Breathing and Ki Meditation. This is free and available to anyone! (Basic instruction can also be given free of charge.)
Anyone looking for Ki Aikido in South Gloucestershire is welcome to explore the art at Falfield Ki Aikido Club. It is okay to just turn up but please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start time. Come in loose clothing or bring a judo type kit to change into.
Classes will be taught in a manner suitable for ALL!
Club details:
“There is something beautiful within the practice that leads us onto the Path (“Do”) and then along it. There arises a deeper connection with ourselves, others, and all of creation.
This promotes a gratitude and confidence in living our lives fearlessly and to the full.”
Sensei John Dykes
